| Membership Attendance: 32 Opening: The opening Prayer as offered by Don Long and the Flag Salute was led by Ernie Johnson. November Minutes were not read, but are available at the office. Monthly Reports: Park Managers Report by Jim Stout Welcome back to Pine Island 2008. It's been a long winter and a lot has been accomlished at Pine Island, not as much as we would like due to weather conditions, but on the other hand, a lot has been done. Beginning with Eagle's Nest side, a new roof has been put on Eagle's Nest. The shower stall in the Men's restorrom has been replaced, it was in sad shape. The women can check it out if escorted by a man. On the Welcome Center side, the old housekeeping building that was about to fall down has been torn down and replaced with a remodeled rental trailer that had not been used in years. The bath house at the North end of the park is in the process of being remodeled. The Men's showers at the Indoor Pool are in the process of being repaired. The outside wall of the women's bathroom at the indoor pool is rotting out and isgoing to have to be repaired, we've just about figured out how to repair it. Throughout the park, we've replaced the glasses on the sliding doors in most of the rental units. We've also replaced the rollers in the sliding glass doors so now they roll real easy. The floors have all been repaired in the trailers and new tile put down. The roofs have all been recoated. This has all been thanks to Wayne Keesey and Ronnie Roam. They also repaired a bunch of picnic tables. The roads have all been redone throughout the park. A tree trimmer came in and cut and removed a lot of trees and stumps. We would like to have worked on the campsites but weather did not permit us to. We will get to those as time and wather permits. Bear with us because we are still trying to get things done before the busy season starts. The carpet came up on the miniature golf course last summer and could not be repaired so we have torn it off and will have to wait unti lwarm weather before we can do anything with it. All of the rental trailers throughout the park have been renumbered to make it esier for people to find them. Numbers 00 through 19 are on Eagle's Nest side and all 20's and 30's are on the Welcome Center side. There isn't anymore of the A and B numbers. All areas of the park have been renamed. The old "A" side (Eagle's Nest side) is now called Area 1; the area south of the Welcome Center which people refered to as the "New Area" or "Area1" is now Area 2; the old Area "B" across from the Welcome Center is now Area 3; ahte the old "Area 3" down by the water tower, is now Area 4. If I can get hold of roger in Arizona I'm going to try to get the Areas changed so this is only a temporary map until we can possibly get it changed. We now have a new park map, but it's only a partial printing and not permanent until I can get hold of Roger. I have talked my sife into doing the Newsletter again and we hope to have one out at the end of this month if at all possible. We may only do 2 a year, we'll just have to wait and see. We have a new office girl since last year, Pam Keesey will be working full time in the office, she was the camp host last year. Ronnie Roam will be our new camp host, he worked in the Teen Center last year. Work Week is coming up in a week but if it's like it has been in the past, weather won't allow us to do anything. We'll just have to wait and see what the weather is going to do before we can make any plans. A second Work Week will be held in April. |

| Financial Report by Jerry Agee: The financial reports were given out and Jerry Agee summarized the reports. They can be picked up at the office. Sales Report by Marty Coombes: Since November 1 we had had 5 tours given and 1 sold. We currently have 3 packages/contracts out to persons that have called in during the month of February and stated that they were buying a membership, however, we haven't received the money yet or the contracts signed yet. The winner of the January/February Tulsa Boat, Sport & Travel Show was Lance and Nicole Ragsdale from Sapulpa Oklahoma. They came up and toured the park and plan on being here for Spring Break. At that time they plan on renting a storage space for their RV. They are a very nice young couple who are very excited about Pine Island. They plan on trying to get more potential buyers up here. The winner of the March Green Country RV Sales Show was Gary and Beverly Johnson from Owasso Oklahoma. I haven't met them yet but talked with him on the phone. He said we made his day. They and some friends plan on coming up here in a couple of months (they were getting ready to leave for South Texas for a couple of months) to look at the park and camp. We need people up here to see the park! We've had a few members request coupons to give out to people and we have sent out a couple of coupon letters but not very many. Activities Report by Debbie Stout: Things are starting to come together for this summer. The indoor swimming pool opens up on March 14th before Spring Break. We have a full schedule of events for Spring Break week March 15th through the 23rd. Saturday night, the 15th is a Wiener Roast. The cost will be $3.00, this will buy you a hotdog, beans & chips. Additional hotdogs will be $1.00. This year Easter is on the last Sunday of Spring Break. Our annual Easter Egg Hunt is going to be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00. I need donations of candy and small trinkets and ovlunteers to fill the Ester Eggs on Wednesday at 1:00. The Teen Center will be closed that day except for the ones filling the eggs. You can pick up an Activity Schedule at the front desk, at the Teen Center or here at Eagle's Nest. We have some new items planned for this year. March 29th we will be playing Mexican Train Dominoes as a tournament. We are going to try having Jam Sessions this year like those in South Texas. The first one is scheduled for april 26 at 1:30. The second one will be held on June 7th at 3:00. Ozark country Band will be here to perform for us on Saturday, May 24 from 6:00 to 9:00. They are a country and western band. We need everyone to come out and support this group, we are paying them $500. We will be inviting the public to come out and listen. Members will show their Member I.D. card or hang tag and will not be charged for admission, others will be charged $5.00 a head. Gospel Weekend is June 21 and 22 this year. We will be asking everyone to bring a can food item as admission this year. The can foods will be donated to the Grove Christian Help Center. Th eFish Fry's this year will be held on July 12th and September 13th, after the Board Meetings. A Newsletter will be sent out shortly, before the first of April. It will have Activities for the summer in it. The Pine Island website has part of the year's activities listed on it for the 2008 season, however, som changes have been made and I haven't updated the website with those canges yet. I hope to have it updated and corrected this week. Tonight is Potluck Dinner at the kitchen. Bring a dish to feed 6 people. Don't forget your drinks, plates and eating utensils. |
